Project 5
I started by finding a voice sound off freesound.org...i chose the hello sailor one...i then started making a drum loop...i started chopping my hello sailor phrase into small peices... i then just made a few drum loops and connected them together...i still needed a bass line so i made a bass line with tom toms..then i added a crash with a pitch bend going down...And Thats how i completed project 5

This was a good approach with the vocoder. It gives the feeling of a live DJ at the turntables scratching away at a dance party- maybe for a bunch of Navy officers.
ReplyDeleteGreat rhythms and use of different sounds like the cow bell (is that what it was?) and the reverse cymbal.
A fatter sounding kick drum would have given this more of a live feel (ever notice how the bass is really loud at live shows?) or a simple synth bass line.
What I'm missing is detail your post. How did you generate the arpeggiated line? how did you come to include all of the sounds you selected? Why no bass?
